Run 3 Winter Games and Side Paths: Where They Branch

Side paths, not secret rooms
Explore Mode in Run 3 is a map of connected paths. The main path runs from Level 1 to Level 65 (finishing it earns the "Boldly Gone" achievement), and other paths branch off it once you reach certain levels. None of them is hidden behind a trick tile or emblem. They appear on the map as you progress. The details below come from the level file of the game build hosted here.
The Winter Games
- Where: a branch off the main path near Level 15.
- Length: 20 parts.
- What is different: every part has ice tiles, and 19 of the 20 have ramps. Ice is slippery, so plan your sideways moves early.
- Reward: finishing it earns the "Slipping and Sliding to Victory" achievement and unlocks the winter costumes (the Skier and the Ice Skater). Otherwise they cost 500 power cells each in the shop.
- Challenge: "Ramping Up" asks you to beat part 16 without jumping. The game's hint is that ice skates may help.
Two more paths start partway through the Winter Games: a short three-level path labelled "Level W-", and The Way Back, a story path that only the Angel, Bunny, Child, Duplicator and Pastafarian will enter.
The Low-Power Tunnel
- Where: a branch off the main path near Level 28.
- Length: 25 parts.
- What is different: the power is low or off in most parts, so the tunnel is dark and you follow glowing tiles. The Student's tip explains that gravity gets weaker when the power goes out, and the Duplicator's tip says new duplicates are hard to make without power.
- Reward: beating it unlocks the Child and the Halloween costumes for free.
- Challenge: "Memory Test" asks you not to jump in part 5.
Two paths branch from the Low-Power Tunnel itself. Memory Evaluation (7 parts) is played as the Gentleman. The New Tunnel (9 parts) is open to the Child and the Duplicator.
Other named paths
| Path | Parts | Branches from |
|---|---|---|
| Box Storage Area | 11 | Main path, near Level 33 |
| Coordination Challenge | 11 | Box Storage Area (played as the Pastafarian) |
| Level B- | 13 | Main path, near Level 40 |
| Level A- | 9 | Level B- |
| The Way Onwards | 9 | Level B- (Runner, Skater and Student) |
Finding the Wormhole
The Way Onwards leads toward the Wormhole. Locating it earns "A Glimpse of New Places", worth 300 power cells. Another achievement, "Thoroughly Lost", is awarded for completing four different paths in Explore Mode, so these branches are worth playing for the rewards as well as the variety.
Power cells in Explore Mode
Explore levels contain power cells too, but runs there are short. Most players earn larger amounts in Infinite Mode, where cells grow in value up to 2,000 meters.
